Bandwidth is very important for low latency with wireless VR. To have a low latency you need to give the VR headset a video stream of at least 90 fps. That means every 11ms the headset needs a full screen frame of video. Over regular Wi-Fi 5 from my phone I can ping my desktop in 4ms so is the latency problem solved? The problem is there is not enough consistent bandwidth over my consumer Wi-Fi router to maintain a high quality experience in VR.
Enthusiasts solve this problem with a dedicated VR only Wi-Fi router connected to their PC but now it will be much easier with the included 6Ghz Wi-Fi dongle in the box
In the Tested review, they got 5ms latency with the dedicated wifi stick! I believe that was with 250mbit streaming. If they set it to max streaming bandwidth, it was 50ms or so.
This seems like a replay of what happened with DeepSeek. They put out v3, or whichever one it was, and everyone said it was over for US companies... then everything continued on.
The markets can be irrational for a while, but if the Chinese models are about 90% of the performance of OpenAI and Anthropic models, and the Chinese companies are < 10% of OpenAI and Anthropic's proposed IPO valuations, something has to give eventually.
This isn't just the AI race, but the end to perceived American exceptionalism (where USA wins by default). It's going to take a while for people to recognize that. Before that the markets will still go crazy, but that's not evidence things will continue on as "normal".

At work they are still hemorrhaging money to Western providers due to enterprise contracts but I foresee they won't renew for much longer. Specially of the upcoming final version of DeepSeek V4 proves to be Opus+ level.
I've seen that, but that's clearly a skewed dataset, right? People using openrouter will be those seeking other models. They are not the same kind of people who mostly just use gpt or claude.

These stats don't pass the smell test. About a third of people in the US have a bachelor's degree, but only 13% can pass level 4/5 literacy challenge? If you dig into the sample questions, they are not hard. A level 4 task has the person read a short article and pull out the criticisms of some products.
I know not everyone with a bachelor's degree is 'smart' but it's hard to believe 2/3rds couldn't pass level 4/5.
Also 13% have a master's degree, does that mean those 13% are the only people passing level 4/5?

Yes, that's how bad the problem is.
I've worked with people with master's degrees who can't comprehend text more complex than a Slack message. I've watched them try and fail.
I think it is difficult for a highly-literate person to wrap their head around this. It's very possible to get through a bachelor's program with low literacy. It's even possible to do quite well. And at a reasonably good school.
There are some pretty successful businesses out there whose target market are essentially professionals with low literacy. They use more flattering descriptions in their marketing.
This is just how it is out there. Ask teachers what students are like these days. Think about designing for users. Or cross-reference with other info on this topic.
And, in regard to colleges... you have to keep in mind just how many colleges there are, how much the quality differs, the relative workloads of different degrees. There are a lot of people graduating with a GPA quite close to 2.0 at that full range too.
Also, think of how many college graduates never finish a book again after graduating college. Those numbers judge 18 to 65. And the age stats show that the older cohorts drag the scores down significantly.
The only upside to all of this is that it at least makes the chaos out there in the world make a bit more sense.
