I had issues with the Siri Beta. I would ask it to open the garage door, and often it just... failed.

Un-enrolling from the beta fixed it.

Quite annoying that you need to get the top plan for 5 cameras, and you cannot get more.

I like tinkering with this stuff, everything around me is a perpetual lab, so I have more than 5 cameras that I'd like to hook up to this. But I REALLY don't NEED or WANT 12TB or storage.

I want all of these integrations to be possible locally, without having to send my data to the cloud.

But I cannot. A lot of these nice integrations aren't offered for fully-local setups.

I wonder if this will change how often people in the USA change their oil.

Comparing BMWs (which are worldwide cars), the oil change intervals in Europe are literally 2x what they are in the USA.

E.g. my previous 2019 M240i (B58 i6):

Europe: every 30,000km or 2 years, whatever comes first.

USA: every 15,000km (~9,000 miles) or 1 year, whatever comes first.

I get that fuel is dirtier in the USA. I get that engines work harder in the USA because of the heat, but a 2x reduction in lifetime?

And this is applicable to ALL the BMWs I've seen.

My BMW M8 with the S63TU4 4.4L V8 takes 10 liters.

Previous one one which had a B58 took 7 liters.

In Belgium it was until 1977 that you could buy the license.

I disagree. I think this happens as soon as the MBAs come on board, where everything becomes a metric, and you work towards OKRs.

You probably don't pay for a copy or move there as well.

You probably don't pay for a copy or move there either.

(I'm Flemish and made that mistake before).

Yes.

I hike 5 miles a day, I ate super-healthy (no ultra-processed foods, cook at home every day etc), only drink water, coffee & tea. Actually rarely eat stuff which has added sugar on the package, and avoid foods that have > 5 ingredients (more means it's too processed for me). I bake my own bread (sourdough, salt, flour, water, maybe home-grown japalenos).

And yet, I kept on gaining weight...

My problem is don't get the signal that I'm full fast enough. I have tried _everything_. Drink 2 glasses of water, fibers, eat slower, smaller plates, dietician, track calories.

They work in isolation, but I always end up hungry. Compare it to alcohol. The desire to drink. The solution there is easy. No more alcohol, and that works for most people.

With food? Can't completely abstain...

Went on GLP-1, worked great. Because of hip surgery had to stop for a while, and the weight just came back, because naturally, you revert to your old eating habits, as you chase the signal of satiation.

Now back on them and I'll be on it until the day I die. I pay $450 a month for now because insurance doesn't think I am fat enough now (I'm not). They expect me to go back to my overweight weight..., and even then, acceptance is not guaranteed.

In terms of risks: If I don't take it I'll wear out my knees sooner (hips were related to genetics, not weight). If I don't take it I need 1h more / sleep every night, I have sleep apnea, higher blood pressure, higher cholesterol (doesn't mater how healthy EVOO is, if you eat a huge salad you'll eat a lot of oil).

It's not a risk of GLP-1 against nothing. It's GLP-1 risks vs heart-disease/etc.

At least with GLP-1 I get to live now.

Thank you, I really appreciate your response.

You wouldn't be taking applied statistics if you didn't pass basic arithmetic.

Exactly why a blanket calculator ban for entire education system would be bad. It should be course specific decided by someone with pedagogical understanding of course contents ?

For too long we have used length of document as a measure of quality.
