You could keep pretending that everyones using AI to make low quality or "AI high quality" output but either way, when its obvious its human made, and many humans still write, it will be higher status.

The one who's thinking of and writing and inspecting these words is the awareness sitting in the human-flesh body for the human named Mannan. no ai at all. I do like how AI does 3 paragraphs though and 3 lines and like uses the number 3 - I had read a book on design and from other sources had been doing this before AI made it popular, but what do I do? stop doing the thing I like?

the LA transit app is amazing these days. You can even pick an icon and when I see a bus coming I can see if a "friend" is on it. It's not like full on profiles and messages, just a unique icon you can pick from 1000's but I see the same lobster or alien over and over on routes I take. And it means they have the transit app open. So I step on the bus and look everyone in the eyes and try and see if I get lobster or alien vibes.

Think back to 2024 and how your job has changed over the last two years. It went from science fiction to reality. And as engineers surely we understand the concept of expotential growth. It's not just us outsiders using claude to make our code but internal anthropic engineers are using it to make claude itself better. (Probably they also use openai and gemini to double check stuff!) And that's the expotential loop. Does anyone really believe in 2028 human judgement will still be the thing?

The programming language became a lot more terse. I press the keys on the keyboard considerably less now. Otherwise, I don't see much difference. The human end hasn't changed. Neither I, nor do I expect anyone else here, was hired to be a monkey infinitely typing to produce Shakespeare in software, so the human end is what the job is and always was.
