I host the media on a Jellyfin server and use offline playlists on my phone with Finamp for Android, works quite well for me!


Was going to reply that I would probably consider myself a power user of my Casio W-736. Features I use:

- Check the time (many times daily)

- Count-down timer (many times daily)

- Stop watch (weekly)

- Check date (a few times per month)

- Secondary time zone (rarely, since the people I care about are in the same time zone or 6h behind and easy enough to convert in my head)

I've had a fitbit in the past but had a hard time with having to charge it regularly, which often resulted in forgetting it at home. The added features did not outweigh the risk of being without it every now and then.

Bit width of vector instructions is not related to address size or register size.

Even today x86 have 512 bit instructions when clearly addresses and non vector registers are not that wide.


perhaps they mean of vector instructions specifically

afaik we currently in the wild have 64, 128, 256, 512 bit extensions?


Exactly and in a few years when theres another generation of new bit width extensions, all those old programs will of course require a new release, which is precisely the problem my suggestion might help with.


Beating the GPU performance bump from 1080-1990 would be hard indeed...

As someone who one week ago switched from a Debian to NixOS setup, using docker compose, I'd be very interested in hearing more if you have any resources or tips to share.

RP2040 is 264k, RP2350 is 520k.

I use NXP's rt1060 and rt1170 for work, and they have 1M and 2M respectively, still quite far away from 16M and those are quite beefy running at 500MHz - 1GHz.


While I generally agree with you, the RT106x line does support external SDRAM as well. I've got an MIMXRT1060-EVKB sitting here on my desk that has 32MB of SDRAM alongside the on-die 1MB of SRAM.


Those specs are $50 for compute module - a very non-trivial cost.

These both have FlexSPI controllers capable of interfacing with $3-5 in PSRAM at 8M or 16M.



My approach for number 3 is to look at previous months and escrow money for it every month, and then pay it off once the bill comes due. From the accounting side you only see the monthly cost of the bill, even though it looks big on the bank statement.
